Was ist Popeline?
Popeline ist ein leichter und feiner Baumwollstoff oder Baumwollmischgewebe mit mattem Glanz. Er eignet sich besonders gut für Hemden, Röcke und Kleider. Durch seine glatte Haptik und den feinen Fäden fühlt sich Popeline angenehm auf der Haut an. In Kombination mit einem geringen Elastananteil verringert sich die Knitteranfälligkeit und z.B. bei körpernahen Kleidungsstücken erhöht sich der Tragekomfort. Popeline ist zudem auch sehr leicht zu vernähen, somit also ideal geeignet für Nähanfänger.
Wie wasche ich Popeline Stoffe?
Popeline kann bei 30C° im Schonwaschgang gewaschen werden, je nach Faserzusammensetzung auf 2-3 Punkte gebügelt werden.
Es sollte eine geringe Schleuderzahl an der Waschmaschine eingestellt werden, so spart man sich langwiriges Bügeln. Vor dem Zuschnitt sollte der Stoff gut abgedampft oder kurz gewaschen werden, da Baumwolle einen Krumpfwert besitzt – er läuft also bei Kontakt mit Wasser noch etwas ein.
Was ist Cretonne?
Cretonne ist die klassischer, gewebter und unelastischer Stoff zumeist aus Baumwolle – und ein echtes Allround Talent. Er eignet sich für Bettenhimmel, Quilitng / Patchwork, Beutel und leichte Taschen, Bettwäsche sowie für Bekleidung wie Hemden, Kleider und Röcke. Cretonne ist im Gegensatz zu Popeline etwas gröber in der Struktur und verfügt über eine eher stumpfe Haptik. Aufgrund seiner Bindung und Faserzusammensetzung verschiebt sich der Stoff nicht so schnell, was ihn ideal für erste Nähversuche für Nähanfänger macht.
